Welcome to the Mercer County Resource Center. If you're considering, planning or in the process of living, working or vacationing in this county, located within the area of New Jersey known as Central Jersey (if dividing state into thirds), then you've come to the right place.  This is for you!

Mercer County is comprised of 13 municipalities. It's county seat is Trenton, which is also the state capital and sits across the Delaware River from Pennsylvania.  Since is it is centrally located geographically and is also the center of state government, it has the flavors of both North and South Jersey. Some in South Jersey include it as part of their area, as do many in North Jersey include it in theirs.  Mercer County is technically in the New York metropolitan area, but can also be considered part of the Philadelphia metropolitan or Delaware Valley area as it was officially prior to 2000. The county is named for Continental Army General Hugh Mercer, who died at the Battle of Princeton in 1777. As of the United States 2000 Census, the population was 350,761.
 
Trenton is the home of the Trenton Thunder Eastern League AA minor league baseball team, which is affiliated with the New York Yankees and plays in Mercer County Waterfront Park, and the Trenton Titans (an ECHL minor league hockey affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers) which plays in the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Outside of the capital City of Trenton, there are communities, including Princeton Township and Princeton Borough, Lawrence and Hopewell, that are great places to live, work, go to school and raise your family. 

Mercer County provides access to parks, central jersey seashores, business/financial centers, restaurants, major sporting events, music and the arts, plus an unlimited variety of shopping opportunities, both in New Jersey and across the river in Pennsylvania.

A great choice of good schools (public, private and parochial), extensive and varied sports programs and recreational opportunities for all ages and skill levels are available.  Convenience to major transportation, including roads, trains (Philadelphia, Camden and New York), buses and airports, provides access to Philadelphia and New York Metropolitan areas.  People living in Mercer County commute to work daily to Philadelphia and Bucks county areas in Pennsylvania as well as North New Jersey and New York City.
