Cumberland County
is composed of 14
municipalities and located in
South Jersey. As of the
2000 United States the population is 146,438. It's county seat is
Bridgeton.
It's bordered on it's southwest side by the
Delaware Bay. Cumberland County is part of the
Delaware Valley region.
Nestled
in the midst of the urban corridor stretching from Washington, D.C. to Boston
rests the tranquil 500 square mile enclave known as
Cumberland
County, New
Jersey. Less than an hour's drive from either metropolitan
Philadelphia,
Wilmington or
Atlantic City, Cumberland County offers a quiet paced style often considered
lost along the East Coast. With vast wetlands, undisturbed stretches of the
Delaware Bay,
roadside vegetable stands, and a rich
glassblowing heritage and arts culture, the County's residents appreciate
the natural beauty which surrounds them.

County is a mix of cities (Vineland,
Millville), growing small towns providing a mix of suburban and rural living
(Deerfield,
Hopewell,
Upper Deerfield) as well as quiet and peaceful agricultural and waterway

and fishing / boating villages (Fortescue,
the "Weakfish Capitol of the World"),
with access to
parks,
rivers,
bay areas and nearby
seashores
and relaxing beaches. It provides a choice of schools (public,
private and parochial) and varied sports programs and recreational opportunities
for all ages and skill levels.
